By now, you probably already know that this Friday will mark the release of the new expanded reissue of Prince’s SIGN O’ THE TIMES album, but what you don’t know – and what we’re here to tell you – is that the Prince Estate, along with YouTube, are bringing you a very special surprise tomorrow: the premiere of a vault recording of Prince’s 1987 New Year’s Eve Benefit Concert, which, in addition to being the final performance of the Sign O’ The Times Tour stage show, also featured the only live collaboration between Prince and jazz legend Miles Davis.

The concert will debut on Prince’s Official YouTube Channel – click here to be transported there – at 8 p.m. ET, but the pre-show kicks off at 7 p.m. ET, and once the concert wraps up, there’ll also be an after-party...because, you know, even in death, that’s just how Prince rolls.

Now, we know you’re wondering what this whole pre-show thing is all about, and we’ve got you covered: it’s going to feature Maya Rudolph – a well-documented Prince fan from way back – chatting with such guests as Susannah Melvoin, Dr. Fink, Eric Leeds and Levi Seacer, Jr., and then the after-party will feature sets by DJ Rashida, Natasha Diggs, D-Nice, Moodymann, DJ Spinna, and special guests.

Before we go, we wanted to let you know that we’ve put together a very special playlist for the event that features the studio versions of all the songs that were in Prince’s set list on December 31, 1987, just to help get you in the mood until the pre-show. Just hit “play,” and then keep it spinning until tomorrow night!
