What are ringtones?
A ringtone is music to your ears, playing a sound clip from one of your favorite songs every time your mobile phone rings. Polyphonic ringtones, using the synthesizer chip in your phone, mimic multiple instruments to produce a recognizable version of the song. Master ringtones are short samples of an actual recording -- they sound the same as a CD played on your sound system (but not in stereo, of course). Depending on your phone, you may be able to download a poly, a master, or both.
