Steve Martin
This is Steve Martin up at his house in Laurel Canyon in '69. He lived right near me, just a little further up the hill on Lookout Mountain Avenue, and I knew his manager (John McEuen's brother Bill). He was a new comedian, and Bill asked me if I would take some pictures of Steve, and so I did; I didn't even really know him. He was very easy to photograph, because he had all kinds of ideas about how to pose and what kind of props to use and stuff like that. I think at one point he had a cat and was holding it down on an ironing board pretending to iron it!
