The Modern Folk Quartet

That's the MFQ in 1976, which was our second incarnation. The Modern Folk Quartet was a folk group that sang between '61 and '65. We did our Phil Spector single in '64 or '65. This was a publicity shot where I was the photographer - to save money, I took all of the publicity shots. And I did it by setting the camera on a tripod and then having a long cord and pushing the release button. If you put the self-timer on, it takes one picture at a time; if you have the release cord with the motor drive, you can go "ching, ching, ching, ching..." So that's what I was doing here. We played at The Icehouse in Pasadena about 20 times, and Bob Stane always wanted new pictures every time we played there to put in the newspaper, so we had to keep taking lots of different pictures.
