Jefferson Airplane
This is Paul Kantner in 1970 in Bolinas; he and Grace Slick had a house there. She was pregnant then with China. This was for David Crosby’s solo album – he wanted me to take pictures of all the people that had played on his album, so he and I flew up there and went to Grace and Paul’s house and spent the afternoon. Phil Lesh was there, Jerry Garcia was there, and basically they sat around the living room and played music and smoked joints, and I sat on the floor and took pictures of ‘em and smoked joints.
