The Fool

The Fool were a European design group – they designed clothing, they painted buildings and cars and such -- all rainbow colors, very “new age”-type stuff. They were the ones that had decorated The Beatles’ store in London, the Apple Store. Apparently it was their clothing that was in there. I think they painted Lennon’s Rolls Royce, too; they painted a lot of cars rainbow colors. They had a big fashion show at the Aquarius Theatre on Sunset and Vine, which is now called something else (it’s where they filmed The T.A.M.I. Show; I think it used to be called The Crescendo). It’s a big huge theater just about a block east of Vine on Sunset. In ’69 they painted the entire building all their famous rainbow colors and had all kinds of great figures and colorful things on there and had a big fashion show in front of it one day. They were filming it and they got all their friends to dress up. Mama Cass was there, wearing their clothing.
