Jim Morrison at The Hollywood Bowl
That's the famous Hollywood Bowl concert they did in '68. I think maybe KHJ put that concert on and I was shooting for them and there were only two photographers, me and some other guy. And I sat crouched right in the front row for the whole concert and took a lot of pictures. The most dramatic moment was when Morrison suddenly falls dead to the floor during "The Unknown Soldier" -- suddenly there's a "whack" on the drums and bang he'd collapse like a sack of potatoes! It was very startling, and he just laid there for a long time. That was great, the good old summer outdoor evening concert -- it was fantastic.
