| ![]() Jackson Browne for his Late For The SkyMy partner, Gary Burdon, a graphic artist, and I did a lot of album covers. And we started to work on Late For The Sky. This was an old Chevy that Glenn Frey had bought and given to Jackson as a present -- an old '55 Chevy. It was white. He'd given it to Jackson, and Jackson had given it to some girlfriend -- there are some pictures where you see her feet there. So we borrowed the car back and Gary had somebody write "Late For The Sky" on there and this was gonna be an idea for the cover or the back or something. But then Gary left town for some reason and some other art director took it over and made the cover the way it is. Which was great; it's a great cover, I wished I had done it. I think one little tiny head shot from this session was used on the back of that Late For The Sky. Taken in Hollywood, right on La Cienega and Santa Monica, right next to where the Clear Thoughts building was, and where The Doors little office was -- there was a lot of stuff going on right at that intersection there, including this picture! ::next |
