Rod The Scot
This Rod Stewart shot was '83. I did a lot of work for a German magazine called Bravo, which is a huge teen music magazine in Europe. They would have me go to different people's houses and do a home story. And so we went to Rod Stewart's beach house out in Malibu and spent the afternoon there with him and his wife Alana. We spent the afternoon there and went out on the beach. His house was on great big pilings, way up high; it was built by the same guy who built the TWA terminal at JFK airport in New York. And he said "Wait a minute, I have an idea." and went in and changed clothes and he came out in this whole plaid Scottish outfit wearing the Stewart tartan. He walked up and down the beach wearing this thing, with the tam-o'-shanter and the shawl and the whole thing. So that was really cool; I'd never seen him wear that outfit before.
