The Association
This had to be back in, '68, '69 -- early on. They were all friends of mine from the Troubadour. We had a group of four guys called the Modern Folk Quartet who sang modern harmonies, and these guys had gotten together to do that same sort of thing. In fact, in my group was Jerry Yester, and in this group was Jim Yester, Jerry's brother (they had sung together in the early '60s as The Yester Brothers). This was in my partner Gary Burdon's garage that we used as kind of a natural light studio.
