Richard Thompson
I did this for the cover of Goldmine magazine. Richard Thompson is a fantastic English guitar player, one of the true folk-rock heroes. Being a folk-rock musician myself, I was happy to make his acquaintance some years ago and we’d become good friends, so when Goldmine needed a picture for the cover they asked me if I would do it. He was playing at The Troubadour on this particular day in 2001, and after his sound check we went outside in the alley. He sat there and played a couple tunes and I took these photos. This was one I didn’t send Goldmine because I thought he had too comical an expression to use on a cover – but it was perfect for my files.
