Now Available: The London Suede, Night Thoughts

Once upon a time, there was a band called Suede…and then all of a sudden there wasn't, at least in America. It's kind of a long story, but…wait, no, it isn't: a cabaret singer who performs under the name “Suede” sued them because she'd copyrighted it first, which resulted in the band that's known everywhere else in the world as Suede suddenly having to change their name to The London Suede. But, hey, the music's what matters most, right?

And speaking of music, guess what? The London Suede's new album, Night Thoughts, is actually available in America…and only a week after it was released in the UK!

Produced by Ed Buller, who's helmed the band more than a few times in the past, Night Thoughts offers 12 new songs, which would be pretty great news in and of itself, but the CD release also includes a DVD featuring a 56-minute-long film which is also entitled Night Thoughts.

Director Roger Sergeant had this to say about the cinematic endeavor on the website ClashMusic.com:

"I was asked to pitch an idea for this film project... I really had no idea what they were wanting or expecting so I tried_ to write in the least self-conscious way possible. The record deals with a lot of familial themes - life, death, love, anguish and despair; themes that are expanded upon in its visual companion, providing a study of how those elements affect_the human psyche. It resonated with me for many reasons, not least because my mother passed away a few days after I started writing a story for the film. The film starts with a man drowning in the waters of a deserted beach at night, as he fights for life, his mind plays out the events that lead him to be there."

Look, the album's called Night Thoughts. What did you expect, The Happy Little Elves?
