In Stores This Week: YES – TOPOGRAPHIC DRAMA – LIVE

Hey, kids! Would you like a new live album featuring performances of sides one and four from TALES FROM TOPOGRAPHIC OCEANS as well as a performance of DRAMA in its entirety?

So it’s as we suspected, then: the answer is a resounding Yes.

When Yes hit the road last summer, they decided to do something a little bit outside the box, opting to perform all of 1980’s DRAMA, an album they’d never played live in its entirety, as well as two of the four sides of 1973’s TALES FROM TOPOGRAPHIC OCEANS. For good measure, they also threw in a few tracks from elsewhere in their discography, including “And You And I” and “Heart of the Sunrise.” The audience response was tremendous enough that they performed additional dates into 2017, but whether you were able to catch one of those tour dates or not, you can now experience it in the comfort of your own home on either CD or LP.

In case you’re wondering, the lineup for the tour was Steve Howe on guitar, Alan White on drums, Geoff Downes on keyboards, Billy Sherwood on bass, and Jon Davison on vocals, with Jay Schellen also in the mix, serving an additional drummer in order to better serve the material.
