Hot Wax: Jethro Tull, AQUALUNG

You won’t find this Friday’s new vinyl reissue sitting on a park bench eyeing girls with bad intent, and given that we’re smack dab in the middle of the #MeToo movement, that’s probably for the best. If you’re an AQUALUNG fan, however, then you’ll want to hit your friendly neighborhood record retailer tomorrow and pick up the new deluxe reissue of the iconic Jethro Tull LP. 

This is, as you may already be able to tell from the accompanying graphic, the 2011 Steven Wilson stereo remix of the album, which made its debut in 2011 as part of the AQUALUNG: SUPER DELUXE EDITION and then saw a standalone reissue in 2015. This time, however, it’s gotten an upgrade in presentation, as it comes packaged in a 12-inch casebound book with a 28-page booklet. 

Mind you, the music’s still the same. But given that the songs contained therein are considered among the greatest in Tull’s formidable discography, we can’t imagine you’d have any complaints about them, particularly given that they’re pressed on 180-gram vinyl.
